Dr. Weise is a clinical specialist with over 20 years in the mental health field, expertise in multiple clinical modalities, innovative program development, teaching, research and publication. She is a first generation college student who grew up in the Pacific Northwest and moved to New England to continue her education at Boston College School of Social Work where she earned her MSW and then Smith College where she completed her Ph.D. While completing her education, Dr. Weise has primarily focused on working with complex and unique cases such as adults and adolescents with complex trauma or serious mental illness such as psychosis, obsessive compulsive disorder, and borderline personality disorder. To this end, she has practiced and taught a variety of clinical modalities including:
She has developed and managed a variety of programs including an award-winning municipal peer mentoring program for adolescents and another for young adults on the autism spectrum, the first Early Psychosis and Clinical High Risk Program in Western Massachusetts, and community-based clinical supports for adults with serious mental illness. She also has taught at a variety of higher education institutions including Columbia University, Boston College, Our Lady of the Elms College and Smith College.
Her research focuses are resilience and attachment, early psychosis, trauma prevention and serious mental illness. She has academic publications and had her research presented both nationally and internationally.
It has been my privilege to work as a clinical social worker/therapist for over 25 years. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults and elders. Each client presents a unique set of needs and strengths.
I tailor my therapeutic style to meet those needs, working with each client to find the best solution for them. I have experience helping clients to address a variety of concerns including the emotional components of adoption, grief, coping with chronic physical health concerns, anxiety, depression and life issues that bring them to therapy.
Nicole has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Primarily, her clinical expertise is focused on individuals with chronic psychosis, trauma, and substance use disorders. Nicole utilizes a CBT and strength based treatment model. While doing trauma work, she implements Narrative Therapy strategies to process trauma reactive symptoms in a safe manner.
Nicole is certified in CAMS (Collaborative Assessment for Managing Suicide). Nicole also has experience facilitating DBT groups to provide education about DBT skills to improve distress tolerance.
Betty is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience in community mental health, school settings, integrated health care, crisis management, and early psychosis recovery programs. She specializes in working with individuals navigating trauma, emotion regulation challenges, family ruptures, life transitions, cross-cultural adjustment, and integrated care that addresses both mental health and physical well-being.
Betty’s approach is collaborative, strength-based, and deeply rooted in compassion. She is guided by a commitment to social justice and intersectionality, with a passion for supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and others from diverse and historically underserved communities. Her goal is to provide an affirming, inclusive space where clients feel empowered to heal and grow.
Drawing on a range of therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s needs, Betty integrates Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Trauma-Informed Care. She also incorporates advanced training in Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cultural Competence and Humility.
Betty holds a Master of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she graduated summa cum laude with a specialization in mental health interventions. Her research interests include motivational assessment tools, psychoeducation, coordinated care in early psychosis recovery, and the impact of racial discrimination on youth.
As a first-generation immigrant from Ecuador with bilingual fluency in Spanish and English, Betty bridges language and cultural barriers in the medical-behavioral health system, fostering understanding and connection. Whether exploring trauma, relationships, or identity, she is dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey toward healing, self-discovery, and lasting change.

Private pay is offered on a monthly subscription of 1- 4 sessions per month at $175 per session. All sessions are scheduled using a flexible self-serve model and can be scheduled up to 3 months out. Some limited sliding scale spots available for those in need.
