neurodevelopmental conditions across the lifespan. Her clinical work has focused on

individuals with trauma, bipolar disorder, ADHD, autism, co-occurring mental health and

substance use disorders, and intersections of mental health and chronic physical health

problems. Her work draws on strategies and principles from CBT, DBT, Motivational

Interviewing, Seeking Safety, and mindfulness.

Sanchia’s work is grounded in the neurodiversity framework (which views differences in

the way people think and behave as valuable rather than as something to fix) and the

social model of disability (which believes that disability stems from the inaccessibility

and limiting attitudes of society, rather than individual deficits). She helps her clients to

increase support in their lives and advocate for their needs while building their own

skills.

As a first-generation immigrant from India, Sanchia is attuned to the way culture shapes

every part of life. She is passionate about working with BIPOC individuals, immigrants,

and the LGBTQ+ community. She strives to provide mental health care that is affirming

of her clients’ identities and aligned with their values.

Hi everyone! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both the states of Rhode Island and Massachusetts. I began my educational journey obtaining my BSW from Rhode Island College and then proceeded to receive my MSW from Simmons College. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults across a multitude of settings including inpatient hospitalizations, residential treatment programs and correctional facilities. I have experience working with those who struggle with a multitude of mental health challenges including but not limited to PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, family conflict, relationship challenges, acceptance and substance use disorders.

To best address the unique needs of clients I have versed myself in multiple evidence-based intervention styles including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Approaches, Strengths Focused Therapy and Solutions-Focused Therapy.

I understand how difficult it can be to seek help, especially when we may deem, we are unworthy of such help. However, through establishing a safe, supportive, collaborative and therapeutic relationship, we can work together to find your voice, identify your needs and goals and work towards a journey of positive change and an improved quality of life.
